Mer. There had she not beene long, but she became
Mer. A ioyfull mother of two goodly sonnes:
Mer. And, which was strange, the one so like the other,
Mer. As could not be distinguish'd but by names.
Mer. That very howre, and in the selfe‑same Inne,
Mer. A meane woman was deliuered
Mer. Of such a burthen Male, twins both alike:
Mer. Those, for their parents were exceeding poore,
Mer. I bought, and brought vp to attend my sonnes.
Mer. My wife, not meanely prowd of two such boyes,
Mer. Made daily motions for our home returne:
Mer. Vnwilling I agreed, alas, too soone wee came aboord.
Mer. A league from Epidamium had we saild
Mer. Before the alwaies winde‑obeying deepe
Mer. Gaue any Tragicke Instance of our harme:
Mer. But longer did we not retaine much hope;
Mer. For what obscured light the heauens did grant,
