Tal. This Ornament of Knighthood, yea or no?
Glo. Glo.
Glo. To say the truth, this fact was infamous,
Glo. And ill beseeming any common man;
Glo. Much more a Knight, a Captaine, and a Leader.
Tal. Tal.
Tal. When first this Order was ordain'd my Lords,
Tal. Knights of the Garrer were of Noble birth;
Tal. Valiant, and Vertuous, full of haughtie Courage,
Tal. Such as were growne to credit by the warres:
Tal. Not fearing Death, nor shrinking for Distresse,
Tal. But alwayes resolute, in most extreames.
Tal. He then, that is not furnish'd in this sort,
Tal. Doth but vsurpe the Sacred name of Knight,
Tal. Prophaning this most Honourable Order,
Tal. And should (if I were worthy to be Iudge)
Tal. Be quite degraded, like a Hedge‑borne Swaine,
Tal. That doth prefume to boast of Gentle blood.
